Détente- Calling For Truce

punctured tyre

"Mom, I need a break. Day by day it is getting impossible to keep up with him."

"Neytra, baby you can't just flee from there every time. You need to sort out your differences."

"Whatever mom"

And she slammed shut the door of her room. Her parents being in the same city as her husband always worked for her as an advantage.Raghav was undoubtedly a very loving husband and Neytra had a huge illogical ego. And that often created clash between them. She often would end up spending hours at her parents house until Raghav would come to fetch her. Somehow his love always cooled her off. But this time things swirled off hand. She, as usual stomped out of her house to her parents, sure that Raghav would come to pacify her as usual. But hours passed, the day came to end, but he did not come. This angered her even more. Another day passed and yet another day went off, he neither came, nor called. As day passed by she started missing him. This never happened before, Raghav never gave her the chance to miss him. As her anger started to cool, she started realizing her mistake. She realized she went real far this time and she was being illogical as usual. This was one thing he never let fall on her. Raghav was not the kind to get angry easily, but once angered, he was tough to pacify. Neytra realized this time she must make efforts to patch things up between two of them but she had no idea how. Sitting on the balcony, staring at the sunset, her mind was flipping through the pages of memories of their togetherness. She smiled at the memory of how he sweetly surprised her on their anniversary..

“Anniversary, that’s it.” A big smile spread over her lips as an idea struck her.

She hurried, his birthday was just two days away and she had lots to do.

Two days later,

Neytra was racing her car on the road looking at her wristwatch often. She was late, if she get to reach her house in time else her plan would be wasted and she didn’t want that. suddenly her car came to a bumpy stop.

“What now”, she irritatedly whispered as she got down of her car. A tyre had betray her.

“The tyre couldn’t have chosen a better time to get punctured”, she kicked the tyre. There was no time to get a mechanic or do that herself. She locked the car, called her brother and took a taxi home.
Raghav was feeling very low by the time he returned from work. It was their first anniversary apart and she had not yet called. He didn’t feel like entering home, it felt so ghostly without her, but then he didn’t feel like going anywhere else. He stood at the door, breathed in, put the key in the door lock, turned, and as the lock gave in, he took another deep breath and pushed the door open. A familiar fragrant struck through his nostrils, smell of his favorite food. He shook his head,

“I am missing Neytra so much that I have started hallucinating things.” he mumbled.

He walked inside, turned the lights on and froze. There were balloons and flowers decorated everywhere. On the centre table was a big cake and the dining table was beautifully arranged for candlelit dinner for two. He could smell his favorite food. He was still taking in the surprise when Neytra came out of the room, dressed in the dress he had bought for her to gift on anniversary. Her one hand on her waist, other hidden, walking like a model she came to him. His heart stopped at how gorgeous she looked. He was still under the impression that he was hallucinating, it was too surprising to believe. She held him with his hand, made him sit on the chair, went down on her knees,

“Baby, I know I am not an easy one to love and still you loved me with all your heart. You forgave me everytime I broke your heart. You gave me most beautiful time of my life. My father called me the princess, but you always made me feel like one. I have realized how silly I have been and so today, I promise to be the wife you always hoped I would be. Sweetheart, do you still take me to be the love of you eyes”, with this she brought her hidden hand forward and opened the little case. In it proudly glittered platinum love band. She took it out and held it in front of him to accept. With this sweetness, there was no way he could have said no.

LOVE IS YOU

A true love story never ends
it only starts  and then stays forever in hearts.

I was afraid to believe in love
 but you held me tender
and made me see
it's not always that love hurts
sometimes, it could be a bliss, just like ours.

P.S : This post is dedicated to my husband Amit Parashar whose love not only healed my heart and
filled voids in my life but also made me see how pleasurable, selfless and eternal love could be.
He made me realize that love really is out of the grip of words.
