Evolution of a Password

The use of password in a techonologial evolution

My palm rested on the edge of the keyboard and my fingers were dancing with anxiety. I was just about to create the first ever password for my first ever email id. This, for me, was a historic moment. I so wish history was as good as my mind was at that time- blank. Anyways, I tried to race my mind. My first ever password, it had to be good, so good that no one could break. Even before my mail id was created, the issue of its privacy clouded my mind. And here I started talking to myself.

'What should be my password?'

'My name?'

'Naah, too easy to guess. What else?'

'Date of birth?'

'Same problem'

'And everyone knows the name of my best friend and my favorite color.'

Just then the aroma of my favorite food trespassed my nostrils. I close my eyes and lose my mind to it. After a few minutes when I opened my eyes, the blank password area was still staring at my face. My mind's bulb lightens up.

'My favorite food.'

'Yes, not many people knows about it and who would remember such silly things.'

Very excited I type in the name of my favorite dish in the password column. And while I was admiring my artwork a thought struck my mind.

'True, who would remember such silly thing when even I can not remember. My favorite food changes every now and then. What if I forget which food I have set as my password. I would not be able to log in to my email ever.'

And that thought of not being able to access my mail ever shook me to the core. For the first time user, reset password is more like a spaceship. The one you believe exist but hope you never have to see it. So, losing my password was a complete nightmare. Aghast, I bang my head on the computer table. There could not be anything more tragic than not being able to set a password. Just then the Phone rang. I hear the voice on the other side and smile big time. Yes, you guessed it right. It was my secret crush on other side.

'SECRET CRUSH'

'YES, YES, YES.'

Finally I knew what my password is going to be. I have never been in such a hurry to finish that call. He was my liberator. As soon as the call is done, I run to my system like I was running for my dear life. Hastily I type in his name and in the retype password box I retype it again. I have often written his name on paper, but typing it into my password box feels much much better. Finally, I had a password and my first ever email id. Who could have stopped me from beaming ear to ear?
